Refurbished in 2004/05
The Concert Hall was built in 1956 and designed by architects Frits Schlegel and Hans Hansen.
In November 2005 the concert hall reopened after a thorough refurbishment and today offers new and improved facilities, an exciting restaurant and café and also Europe's longest salt water aquarium.

Unique acoustics
The concert hall itself and its unique acoustics have been kept intact, but all surfaces have been livened up and the seats renovated and reupholstered.
A new orchestra pit to accommodate 80 musicians has been established almost two metres beneath the edge of the stage. The orchestra pit is covered and the stage enlarged for the frequent visits from internationally acclaimed ballet companies.

Denmark's longest salt water aquarium
Access to the Concert Hall is through the new foyer, housed in a circular glass building with café, bars and a view of Tivoli. Further along you'll find the cloakroom and toilets and a lounge featuring Denmark's longest salt-water aquarium. This new Tivoli attraction contains sharks, rays and ca. 1600 tropical fish.

Improved accessibility for visitors
The improved conditions for the general public also include improved accessibility for visitors. The refurbished Concert Hall features several toilets and lifts for persons, as well as a level-free access to almost the entire building.
