Teamwork makes for efficiency

Teamwork makes for efficiency

14 Mar 2011

"It's not just a network, it’s teamwork" is the new slogan of Cruise Copenhagen Network. It may be welcoming to be friendly and essential to have interesting places, shops and sights – but when the ships arrive in port, efficiency is what is needed to make things work.

In 2011 Denmark was expecting 358 calls in Copenhagen and 79 in other Danish ports. However, only last week it was confirmed that, for the first time, Happy Cruises will come to Copenhagen this year with 11 turnaround calls – resulting in Cruise Copenhagen Network experiencing yet another record-breaking season.

More value and new business opportunities Since last year, Cruise Copenhagen Network has further strengthened their activities in order to secure even more satisfied cruise guests to the country, creating more value and more prosperous business opportunities for the future.

"It’s all about teamwork," reveals Director at Cruise Copenhagen Network, Bo Larsen:

"We all co-operate closely, enabling us to offer a unique quality of service to our guests and collaborators, before, during and after the cruise."

Smooth logistics A new progressive cruise strategy focuses on creating long-lasting relationships with both cruise lines, suppliers, cruise ambassadors – and, of course, with the cruise guests, many of whom will be experiencing Denmark for the first time.

Copenhagen has Europe’s most punctual airline, Scandinavian Airlines. Copenhagen Airport is only a few minutes from the city by metro or train; and in 2013 Copenhagen Malmö Port will have finished a new 1.1 kilometer cruise quay in Copenhagen. Already from this summer cruise guests will be received by service crew on bikes.

"It is okay to offer a brochure, however we want to hand it out to passengers in a warm and more personal manner," says Director, Bo Larsen.

"Often our guests only stay for at short time in the City, so we want to ensure that we exceed their expectations from the first minute they set foot on Danish ground and at the same time increase the chances of a future visit."

It’s all about teamwork Cruise Copenhagen Network consists of an increasing number of partners – right now 56 - within including air transport, ports, local authorities, suppliers, hotels, attractions, and shops.

They all offer unique quality to the network, which is important as cruises business to Copenhagen and Denmark continues to increase.
