In 2009 more than 300 cruise ships with a total capacity of almost 600,000 cruise passengers will visit the Port of Copenhagen.

Copenhagen makes a convenient base for cruises to the Baltic countries and their capitals, including Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Stockholm and St. Petersburg. It is also an excellent departure point for cruises along Norway's west coast to the North Cape and the midnight sun. Recently, Copenhagen has become a preferred embarkation point for cruises to the British and North Atlantic Isles such as Greenland and Iceland.

Cruise lines choose Copenhagen as their home port because of its clean, safe and highly efficient infrastructure and facilities. The main passenger piers, Langelinie and the Freeport Terminal, are just five-10 minutes from the city center and 20-25 minutes from Copenhagen Airport by taxi or bus.

The Port of Copenhagen works closely with cruise lines, authorities and tourist organizations to develop its cruise services and facilities. Thanks to our efficiency and world-class service, international travel agents named Copenhagen as Europe's Leading Cruise Destination five years in a row from 2004.
