How to get around as a wheelchair user

Travelling by regional train

(incl. to and from Kastrup Airport)

As a wheelchair user, you can get assistance with getting on and off the regional trains. You must book the necessary assistance no later than two days before your journey at:

DSB Handicap Service
Tel.: +45 70 13 14 19
E-Mail: handicoest@dsb.dk

Open every day 08.00 - 15.00 (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.)

Most stations have an elevator or are accessible without stairs, but not all. Please contact DSB to make sure the station you are travelling to or from is accessible for wheelchair users.

If you have an identity card, you can get a discount on the train ticket, whether you travel alone or with a helper.

Travelling by S-train

When travelling by S-train, pre-booked personal assistance is not possible. To get on and off the train, place yourself by the front carriage, where a lose slope is available. Signal to the engine driver that you wish assistance and tell him/her at which station you wish to get off. He/she will then help you get on and off the train.

All S-train stations have either an elevator or are accessible without stairs.

Travelling by Metro

The Metro is designed to be used by everyone, and consequently all stations have elevators. The guiding philosophy is that  people should be able to use the Metro with as little assistance as possible. For more information visit the home page:

Travelling by bus

Most buses have a collapsible slope by the middle doors. You will find a special call button to the right of the doors on the outside of the bus. You must push this button in order to get the driver to unfold the slope. Please observe that the driver will not provide personal assistance with getting in and out of the bus.
