The house of organic inspiration

The colourful Danish actress Jytte Abildstrøm is synonymous with organic living. Next door to her theatre Riddersalen in the heart of the district of Frederiksberg in Copenhagen is Det Økologiske Inspirationshus (the house of organic inspiration). The house is a place of inspiration and offers a long list of organic initiatives, like a compost toilet, a mass oven, a solar collector, plants and a bio water purifying plant with sand, stones and plants, where the water is cleansed, after it has been turned into waste water in the miniature washing machines. Here you will find inspiration on how to make your home an organic one.

Organic tours

The house is open to adults and children, school classes and kindergartens. If time permits, manager Hanne Andersen will gladly tell you about the organic philosophy behind the house, but if you want to be sure to get a guided tour of the house, it is best to call ahead. Tours for adults and kids, in Danish as well as in English, can be arranged.
