Half day Castle Tour - afternoon Hamlet
A mini tour to the castles and palaces of North Sealand. The tour departs from Copenhagen city centre and travels up the Riviera road to Elsinore.
Kronborg Castle
Upon arrival in Elsinore you will see the outer walls and towers of impressive Kronborg Castle, setting of Shakespeares play "Hamlet". The castle was built between 1574-1585, to protect Danish interests and to collect tolls on ships passing through the narrow straits.
Fredensborg Palace
The tour continues past the royal Family's summer residence, Fredensborg Palace, which is in the middle of a lovely park.
Frederiksborg Castle
After this, we drive to Hillerød and the magnificent Frederiksborg Castle, where our visit includes the Museum of National History's royal art collection, the chapel and the Knights' Hall.
The tour is a great way of seeing the castles and countryside outside of Copenhagen.
